A Sad and Sudden Death.
This morning about 7:30 o’clock, Mrs. Edie Diamond, aged 24 years, departed this life at the residence of her brother-in-law, Mr. Will Cottam, No. 918 Eighth avenue, after an illness of one week. She leaves a husband and one child. The circumstances attending Mrs. Diamond’s death are peculiarly sad. She came here but recently from New Castle, her husband having secured a situation in one of our factories, and they werestopping temporarily with her sister, Mrs. Cottam. Last Saturday week she went to clean the house in which they expected to move shortly, and in so doing got her feet wet, thereby contracting a cold which rapidly developed into pneumonia, resulting in death as stated. Her father and mother had been sent for from New Castle, and were with her at the time of her demise. The remains were taken to New Castle this afternoon, and will be interred there to-morrow.
