Shirley Mae Denk, age 72, passed away at her home in Sun City, Ariz., on March 16, 2010. She was born on April 7, 1937, in the Town of Franklin, to the late Frank and Margaret (Lemberger) Hill. At age 17, on Aug. 17, 1954, she married Wilfred (Willie) J. Denk. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1986.

Shirley and Willie owned and operated Shirley's Hilltop Haven Supper Club in Francis Creek for approximately fifteen years. In 1993, Shirley relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she worked for three years and then moved to Las Vegas, Nev. for two years and in 1998, settled in Sun City, Ariz.

Shirley was a tremendous people-person, who enjoyed working as a hostess, waitress and/or bartender at various places. She loved to sing, dance and gamble for fun, as well as entertain friends and family. She spent countless hours remodeling her home and working in her huge yard to make it a welcome haven where her friends could gather. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor who always found time to check in with those who needed help and to take over some of her delicious homemade soups and dinner rolls.

Survivors include Shirley's children: Russell and Cheryl Denk, Peoria, Ariz.; Cheryl and Jim Kautzer, Bella Vista, Ark.; Lea and Dennis Thiel, Manitowoc; Renee and Jeff Braun, Whitelaw; Diana "DeeDee" Elliott, Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Michael (Audrey) Denk; Kristi (Courtney) Crawford; Corey and Cassie Kautzer; Cody Thiel; Tyler, Josh, Austin, and Alena Braun; Ryan Elliot; four great-grandchildren: Russell and Payton Crawford; Naomi and Liam Denk; two sisters: Marion Mayerl, Whitelaw; Luella Anna Muench, Mesa Ariz. and Manitowoc; sister-in-law: Georgiana Hill, Cato; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: LeRoy (LaVern) Denk, Two Rivers; Dennis (Marion) Denk, Manitowoc; Audrey (Leroy) Christiansen, Manitowoc; Shirley's special friend: Fred Stephenson, Sun City, Ariz.
