Theo L. Whalen passed away on Jan. 18, 2018. She was born to Willard and Doris (Matthews) Redstone in Clinton, Massachusetts on June 3, 1924. During WWII she worked at Fort Denvens, MA, where she met her future husband Felix (Phil) J. Whalen. They were married on June 23, 1946. Together they moved to Staten Island, N.Y where their children David and Diane were born and raised. After her children were raised Theo worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an administrative assistant.
In 1978 Felix and Theo moved to Colorado, eventually settling in Erie, CO.
Theo was a woman of many talents. She sang in her church choirs, knitted and crocheted, excelled in painting and drawing in many media. She wove and sewed beautiful fabrics. Her paintings and hand created sweaters, blankets and other gifts will remain a source of wonderful memories to her family.
She is survived by her son David (Janice) Whalen of Erie, CO, daughter Diane Whalen, of Detroit Lakes, MN, her sister, Wendla Black, Spencer, MA, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Felix (2016), her parents, one sister and two brothers.
