Sherman Schnell, age 86, of Kiel, was reunited with the love of his life, Rosie on Sunday evening, February 18, 2018.
Sherman was born in rural St. Nazianz on November 25, 1931, son of the late Roland and Hattie (Kautzer) Schnell. On July 16, 1955 he married Rosemarie Ramminger at St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake. Sherman and Rosemarie farmed in the town of Schleswig where they raised their family. Rosie preceded him in death on January 20, 2015. He was employed with Kohler Co. for a short time. Sherman was an active member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Foresters and Manitowoc County Farm Bureau.

He was a proud lifelong farmer; he continuted to be active on the farm milking until this past September. Sherman looked forward to his Gator rides around the farm, listening to Polka music and Sunday Night Campfires. He also loved the time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Sherman will be greatly missed by his two cats Willow and Shadow.

Sherman is survived by his three children: Kathy Schnell, Debra (Walter "Butch") Schneider and Andrew (Kim) Schnell, all of Kiel; five grandchildren: Becky Schneider (Tyler Thielmann), Brooke Schneider, Brock Schneider (Brooke Koslowski), Arianna Schnell and Nicholas Schnell; one brother: Richard (Dorothy) Schnell, Kiel; sister: Bernice (Tom) Keller, Kiel; one brother-in-law: Wallace (Sylvia) Ramminger, Plymouth; and his dear friends: Margie Steffes and Eugene (Bernice) Schnell. Sherman is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sherman was preceded in death by his wife: Rosie, parents: Roland and Hattie Schnell, infant brother: Harlan, sister: Margaret and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial for Sherman will be held at 12:00 PM (NOON) on February 23, 2018 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, (413 Fremont Street) Kiel. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Church, on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 9:30 AM until 11:45 AM, when brief family rites will be held.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his name.

The family would like to thank Calumet County Hospice especially, Faye Wallersheim and Oak Creek Assisted Living for all of the care and compassion they showed to Sherman and his family.

Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
