Sally C. Aguayo (Dec. 3, 1926-Jul. 20, 2016) Sally Cruz Aguayo, our beautiful and precious mother, went peacefully to her heavenly home on July 20, 2016. She was 89 years young, born in Phoenix, Arizona, and lived most of her life in Phoenix, with a short 11-year stint in San Jose, California. She is survived by her children, Sandra, Sylvia, Eddie, Margie, Linda and Bernie. She is predeceased by her beloved son David Aguayo, Jr. She is Nana and Nana-Grande to 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Mom was the oldest of 14 children. At the age of 12, she was known as the "little mama." She first married at the age of 15. She was a simple woman who loved beautiful things. Her favorite color was yellow. Her favorite flower - the carnation. Surviving the untimley death of her young son David, Jr., living her life as a single mother and being the sole breadwinner for her family, made her strong-willed and "tough as a tank." She practiced the epitome of "where there is a will, there is a way," and she always found a way. As her children became adults, she never wavered in her love and support for each and every one of them. Her love was pure and her strength was undoubtedly God-given. She worked a variety of jobs in her lifetime, but her favorites - a Seamstress, Social Worker, and School Bus Driver. She was an excellent cook - never needing or using a measuring spoon or cup. In her spare time, she loved to sew and crochet and enjoyed making a variety of crafts, including her much coveted Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and soul. She adored her Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco 49ers. She was an amazing woman, a true friend, had a great sense of humor, was kind-hearted, warm, giving, talented, beautiful - and tough! She is greatly missed by all who know and love her. We love you mom. We miss you. We think of you every day. See you soon.
