Obituary of Perry Sutton

Perry Daniel Sutton, age 86, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at a local hospital. He is the son of the late Walter and Lila Sutton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mildred Styles Sutton. Perry served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was owner/operator at Jackson Tire. He served as a former deacon at Jarrett Memorial Baptist Church where he was still an active member and held many positions. He was also a lifelong member of AMVETS and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, David Sutton and wife Catherine of Gallatin, TN and one daughter Debbie Potts and husband Robbie of Cashiers, NC; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Alicia, Zachary and Cody; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, Mack and Huey Sutton. He is preceded in death by three sisters, Audrey Buchanan, Alma Pullium, Lucille Lambert and one brother Hayes Sutton.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Corey Boone and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jarrett Memorial Baptist Church, c/o Corey Boone, 5 Wild Rose Rd. Whittier, NC 28789 or to a charity of one's choice.

Appalachian Funeral Services are in charge of arrangements.
