Nena Mongold
Born November 8, 1916
Released to the Lord
June 25, 2002
Nena was born in Dunklin County, Missouri, 85 years ago to Dave and Naomi Sceales. Her glorious life was spent in Bakersfield with her loving husband Marvin and her 3 children Dave, Jackie and Sharon.
Nena graduated from KCUHS class of 1936. Her 41 years of waitressing earned her the well deserved nickname "Speedy" an "White Lightning" which originated during her car hopping days at Michener's Drive-In. Her upbeat personality, humor and dedication to the Lord was magnetic. She is known by all as "Grandma Nena" the one who always had a kiss and a hug for every hello and goodbye. Her "energy" was constant, her garden was beautiful, and an abundance of heart, shown through her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Nena Mongold's memory will forever be carried on by Dave and Tommie Mongold, Jackie and Gary Simpson, Sharon and Billy Anderson, her brother Ercle Sceales, and sisters Nadine Maclin and Norma Little, and her gentleman friend of 15 years Bob Page and the thousand of lives she touched.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to "Kyle Ray" and the staff at Optimal Care.
As one of the founders of Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3700 Union Avenue, services will be held there on Friday, June 28th at 10:30 a.m.
