DAVID MONGOLD
1942 - 2022

David Mongold passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 4, 2022 in Bakersfield, California at the age of 79 after a struggle with cancer. He was born March 1942. Dave met the love of his life Tommie through mutual friends at Stan's drive-in. They married in October 1960. Their love affair was an inspiration to family and friends
Dave and Tommie were blessed with a beautiful family. Dave was a big part of leading their family to love and taught his children to experience lots of fun hobbies to last a lifetime. Water skiing, snow skiing, ocean fishing, motorcycles and the love of cooking, (His #1 was Chili Verde) and fine dining. He blessed us with unconditional love. He was Terrie's biggest cheerleader and Connie's knight in shining armor.
Dave lived a full life serving his country as a Navy man and participating in many clubs and organizations. He enjoyed being a member of Channel Island yacht club, Corvette club, Sundale country club, the Elks and Eagles Clubs. Dave enjoyed working within many different capacities during his life including a prison guard, car salesman, yacht broker, business owner of Shafter and Taft Yamaha and most importantly assisting Tommie with Sundale hair design/Contere salon for 48 years. His last job was at the Naval base in Oxnard fueling up airplanes including the President. He was so proud of that. He had an outgoing personality with many people sharing stories of how that was the funniest/funnest time in my life with him.
Dave loved and enjoyed his family very much. He is survived by his wife Tommie. Sisters Jackie and Sharon. Children Connie (Tim), Terrie (Jeff), David (Timmieann), many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Sarah, his granddaughter asked grandpa for one last task for our family, pick up Presley and tell her how much we/I love her and miss her. He knew the Lord and happily accepted her request.
Dave will be greatly missed and the empty space that will be felt without him will be great. His fun loving spirit is a memory for us all to cherish until we meet again. We love you daddy, grandpa and husband.
Thank you to Hoffmann Hospice for taking such good care of our daddy. Any donation in Dave's memory would be appreciated.
