First and most loved wife of noted literary critic and anthologist, Rufus Wilmot Griswold (the foe of Poe). Three children, 2 daughters and a son. She and her son both died shortly after he was born.

Griswold's poem "5 days", printed in the New York Tribune was primarily about his grief over her loss.
