Claude Akin
Services for Claude A. Akin, 72, of Ohara Drive will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church by the Rev. Norman Hagley. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 9, 1928, in Danville, he was the son of Louise Huffman Akin of Danville and the late Claud A. Akin Sr. He was owner of Danville Poultry and Egg Co.and a retired clerk for Southern Railway Co. He was a member and former . deacon of - First Christian Church and a 1950 graduate of Danville High School.
Other survivors include his wife, Martha Bourne Akin of Danville; a daughter, Lynn Akin Young "of Lexington, S.C.; ' a son, James R. Akin of Louisville; a brother, George B. Akin of Mary Ester, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Satterfield, Joe Greer, Bob Sowder, Al Evans, Ernest Anderson, Bob Huffman.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to First Christian Church and the Central Kentucky Cancer Society..

The marriage of Miss Martha Elizabeth Burch, daughter of Mr. and - Mrs. Basil Duke Burch to Mr. Claude Akin, son of Mrs. A. R. : Leathers, was solemnized Saturday in Louisville by the Rev. Dr. T. C. Ecton at the home of the bride's parents, 1437 Hepburn Ave, Mrs. Paul Thomas, Mrs. Jack Keeling, Mrs.. Susan H. Bridwell and Mrs. Joseph Kenny each gave a shower for Mrs. Akin.
After a wedding trip in the South, Mr. and Mrs. Akin will live in Danville, Ky.
