OBITUARY.

Joseph Childers was born in Highland Co., Ohio, Feb. 18th 1817, and died June 1st 1888, aged 71 years, 3 months and 13 days. He emmigrated to Fulton Co. Ill. in 1835 and was married to Margaret A. Denham July 22, 1841. They joined in life together nearly 47 years. To them were born 12 children 6 sons and 6 daughters, 2 of the daughters died in infancy, and 2 of the sons lived to see the vigor of manhood, and were called away. One of them gave his life a sacrifice for his country in the late war. Brother Childers became a Christian in 1839, was an accepted member of the M. E. Church at the time of his demise. He leaves his aged, devoted wife and children to mourn their loss, which is his gain.--J. C. Miller.
