Funeral services for Mrs. Della McDonald Herron, 54, were held Monday, December 31 [1956] at 10 a.m. from the Jones Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Jess Campbell in charge, assisted by the Rev. Otis Melton. Burial was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Estell Cox, Leonard McDonald, David Bland, Carl Robert Cox, Melton Noel and Charles Edgar Cox. Mrs. Herron, daughter of Mrs. Sarah McDonald and the late William McDonald, was born March 31, 1903 in Taylor County, Ky. She died Friday, December 28 [1956] at 8 a.m. at her home in Louisville. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Stoner Creek Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Welby Herron on February 21, 1921 and to this union two sons and seven daughters were born. Surviving are: Mrs. Willard Loy, Mrs. Boyd Moss, Mrs. Daniel Wilson, Mrs. Raymond Trent, and Hubert and James Herron, all of Louisville; Mrs. Irwin Hunt, Campbellsville; and Mrs. Eddie Childers, Mannsville. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sarah McDonald; four sisters and three brothers, Garland McDonald, Campbellsville; Finis McDonald, Louisville; Guy McDonald, Marseilles, Ill.; Mrs. James Wheeler, Seneca, Ill.; Mrs. Otha Cox and Mrs. Delma Bland, Casey County and Mrs. Leslie Richerson, Bradfordsville. Also 17 grandchildren.
