Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Thomas McDonald, age 81 years, will be held Thursday, June 25 at 2 p.m. DST from the Jones Chapel Methodist Church with Bro. Jesse Campbell and Arthur Upchurch in charge. She was a member of the Church of God. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons and flower girls will be her granddaughters. She was born in Casey County, January 22, 1878, the daughter of the late William Bass and Suzanna Noel Bass. She united in marriage to the late William Wallace McDonald who preceded her in death September 1934. Mrs. McDonald had made her residence at Route 1, Elkhorn, Dry Creek, in Casey County. She died Tuesday, June 23 at 6 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Otha Cox, Route 1, Elkhorn. Mrs. McDonald had been in ill health for the past several years. Surviving are 7 children: Mrs. Lena Wheeler, Ottawa, Illinois; Guy McDonald, Marseilles, Illinois; Mrs. Otha (Toncie) Cox, Route 1, Elkhorn; Mrs. Verna Richardson, Bradfordsville; Garland McDonald, Campbellsville; Mrs. Delmar Bland, Route 1, Elkhorn; and Finis McDonald, of Louisville. She also leaves one brother, Mont Bass, of Marseilles, Illinois and two sisters, Mrs. Effie (C.C.) Childers, Mannsville, and Mrs. Josephine Farmer, of Louisville. A daughter, Della Herron, preceded her mother in death in infancy; three brothers, Prentice, Dennie and Hughie Bass preceded their sister in death as well as two infant brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Etta Campbell and Mrs. Cora Lee Cox.
