Nathan Northrup was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He was the son of James Northrup (1693 -1777) and Hannah Hine (1697-1739) of Milford, Ct. He married Eunice abt 1744. They joined the Church of Christ of Salem, Westchester County, New York and entered into the church records in 1754: "1754, Sept. 1, Rec[eived] Nathan & his wife Eunice".
There is a quit claim deed in Salem Land Records transferring property from Nathan Northrup to son Abijah Northrup dated 24 April 1776.
Nathan Northrup was a revolutionary soldier.

April 26, 1758 in South Salem and died Sept. 24, 1841 in Lennox, MA he married Rhoda Benedict October 21, 1779. baptized May 7, 1758 in the South Salem Presbyterian Church, Military Service was : He served in the Rev. War in Col. Waterbury's Regiment and was a shoemaker. He was a deacon of the First Congregational Church of Sherburne, lived i Sherburne March 1797, Nassau, New York and by 1820 was in Lenox, NY. Child: Mary M. Northrup, b. June 30 1780 and died on Aug 21, 1839.
