Hastings resident, Rose M. Bott, 103, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at her home.

Rose was born May 21, 1912 on a farm near Lawrence, NE to Albert and Louise (Jahnke) Alber. She received her education at country schools and graduated from Hastings High School in 1930. She spent her working years in the retail business, as a buyer and manager for the Lingerie Dept. at the Brach-Thompson Store and later at Schweser's. She was a purchaser and manager at Jeri's Uniform Shop prior to retirement.

Rose was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Immel of Hastings, grandchildren Steve Popeney (Carol), Kevin Popeney, Jim Popeney, Teresa Popeney Ransom (Chris),
Robert McCauley, Susan McCauley Callahan (Mike) , Peggy McCauley, Karrie McCauley, Christine McCauley, Monica Immel Kennedy (Paul), Julie Immel, & Linda Immel Brinda (Jeff), 22 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, one sister in law, Bernice Alber of Independence, MO, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rueben, her daughter, Lois Newbold, her son, Robert McCauley, a grandson Brian Immel, son-in-law Duane Immel, 6 brothers and 5 sisters.

Honoring her wishes, Rose was cremated and a Celebration of life will be at a later date.
