Obituary for Betty Bratcher
Betty Vaughn Bratcher, 86, formerly of 1023 Chipley Road, widow of Winton Bratcher, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Abbeville Nursing Home.
Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Theo Sam and Sue Brown Vaughn. She retired from Monsanto after 25 years and was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Wayne Lee Bratcher of Greenwood, Shirley Clevenger (Steven) of Danridge, TN., Irene Whatley (William O’Neal) of Greenwood, Winton Link Bratcher, Jr of Greer, Ellis Eland Southerland of Ninety Six and Lisa West (Scotty) of Myrtle Beach; and thirty seven grand and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Elend Southerland, and a daughter, Marilyn Bratcher.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Strickland and Rev. Rick Hindricks officiating. Burial will follow at Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harry Metts, Will Metts, Joe Rambo, Scotty West, Arron Capps, and Kevin Whatley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Wayne, 1021 Chipley Road, Greenwood, SC 29646.
