Helen M. Cullen, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008 after a short illness. Helen was a lifelong resident of Dutchess County and was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Edward, who passed away Jan. 29, 1970. Helen was a devout Catholic, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was devoted to her family and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.

Helen is survived by three children, James of Poughkeepsie; Kathleen (Robert) Hanke of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Patricia (Marty) Calega of West Palm Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Deborah-Lynn Saley, Martina Adams and Robert J. Hanke Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by her family and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12noon, Friday, Aug. 29, at Holy Trinity Church, Main St., Poughkeepsie, with interment immediately following at St. Peter's Cemetery.
