Obituary in the South Bend Tribune, published Nov. 9, 1984 on pg. 22 reads: "Mary Vager (correct spelling is Veger), 90, of 22200 Quinn Road, Lakeville, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ridgedale Nursing Home. Born Aug. 18, 1894 in Szent Miklos, Hungary, she lived in the South Bend area for 86 years, coming from Hungary. On Nov. 19, 1913, in St. Joseph as Mary Kobor, she married John Veger, who died April 16, 1973. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Nelson of Fremont, Ind., Winifred Messama of Mishawaka, and Kathryn Vardeman of North Liberty; two sons, John of Lakeville and Joseph of LaPaz; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Hadarick of Mishawaka; a brother, Joseph Kobor of Florida; and three half brothers, Frank Homer of New Buffalo, John Homer of Buchanan and Anthony Homer of Granger. Two daughters, Elizabeth Adcock and Irene Forkner, also preceded her in death. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mrs. Vager was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Walkerton." Funeral notice published in the South Bend Tribune Nov. 10, 1984: "Services for Mary Vager, 90, of 22200 Quinn Road, Lakeville, who died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ridgedale Nursing Center, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 2 p.m."
