James Durkin of 302 Olive Street, Sayre, died in the Robert Packer Hospital. He was a former resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Elmira, New York.
Born in Ireland, he came to the U.S. when he was 4 years old.
He was a retired employee of the Glen Alden Coal Co., Scranton.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Scranton.
Mr. Durkin is survived by his wife, Clara; a brother, John S. Durkin, Scranton; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his late brother, Rev. Thomas P. Durkin, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, Athens.
