ZOTZMAN, Mary

August 20, 1920 – March 24, 2018

With our hearts breaking we announce the passing of our beloved mom Mary. Predeceased by her loving husband John Zotzman in 1993. Survived by her (brother inadvertently omitted), sisters, children, grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Maria was born in Niebyliw, Poland, the first in a family of 11 children. In 1926 she made the challenging voyage to Sandgotto (sic Sangudo), Alberta to homestead with her parents. Although she only had a minimal education she was an avid self- learner and attained her grade 12 as an adult. She passionately believed that children should be well educated in order to be successful. She totally supported her husband John in the Yellow Cab business and loved all her children equally. Mary loved family, gardening, blueberry picking, McDonalds, and was devoted in her church and had strong beliefs. A service to commemorate her beautiful life will be held at Killarney Park Lutheran Church (3022 E 49th Ave, Vancouver, BC) on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow at Valley View Funeral Home (14660 72 Ave, Surrey, BC) at 1:00 p.m. in the Arbor Reception Lounge. In lieu of flowers, Mary would have liked donations to Killarney Park Lutheran Church.
