Michael L. Keehan, 69, 222 Jorgensen St., Denmark, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 1, 1997.

The son of the late Michael and Helen (Reedy) Keehan was born Sept. 1, 1928 in Green Bay, Wis. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Denmark High School. Mike proudly serviced his county in theKorean War as a sergeant with the 45th Infantry Division. He married the former Shirley Grall on Sept. 8, 1956 at St. James Catholic church in Cooperstown. His career in the trucking industry began as truck driver for Les Johnson Carage in Denmark. He later accepted the position as dispatcher and continued in dispatching until his retirement with Old Reliable Transport of Mishicot. Mike loved his Country and served as Commander of the Denmark VFW Post # 6705. In 1995 he was named a Veterans of Foreign Wars All-State Commander where he was awarded the All-State Commander White Cap. Mike was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown, where he served as a choir member, an usher, CCD Mentor and took great pride in his responsibilities as Grounds Supervisor.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; and their children and spouses: Deborah Breunig, Green Bay; Kelly Keehan, Madison, Wis.; Dan and Jacque Keehan, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Kavid Keehan, Green Bay; Randy Keehan, Denmark; and Michael Keehan, stationed in Korea; two granddaughters, Jessica Breunig and Erica Breunig; four sisters, Delores Loberger, Green Bay; Katie (Rex) Rasmussen, Denmark; Theresa (Lee) Carroll, Beaver Falls, Penn.; Joan Umentum, Green Bay; one brother, Earl (Vernice) Keehan, Maribel, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Keehan, Denmark and Marlene Keehan, Two Rivers.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Keehan and Jerry Keehan; two infant sisters and a brother-in-law, Oscar Loberger.

Friends may call at the Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty. Hwy R, Denmark from 4 until 9 on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the cortege leaves for church. Parish prayer service at 7 and the V.F.W. Memorial Service at 7:30 on Tuesday evening; Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown with Father Ronald Columbo officiating; Burial in the Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Father Ron Columbo and to Father Bob Gulig for everything they have done for Mike.
