White's Funeral Home.

After a valiant three year battle with brain cancer, Fred LaPointe ascended into the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior and was reunited with his father, Paul.

Fred, age 61, was born June 2nd, 1956, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, to Jean-Paul LaPointe and Shirley Tysick.

Fred is survived by his wife of 12 years, Theresa; stepchildren, Preston, Paige and Marshall; as well as his stepmother, Patricia Daniels; his beloved sister, Louise (Joshua Miller); and his three nephews, Austin, Mitchell and Alex; and one niece, Megan (Josh Desantis), who loved and cherished him dearly.

He was a great uncle to Kohen and Kyah.

Fred grew up in Myrtle Creek and graduated from South Umpqua High School in 1974, then graduated from OSU in 1978, while later obtaining his Masters degree from Boston University some years later.

He made numerous dear friends all over the country, which he kept in contact with all of his life.

Fred loved music (Beatles), camping (SU Falls), and football (Beavers), sorry Ducks! He loved people and playing his guitar for all who would listen! We all loved him playing for us.

Fred was the most caring, generous and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He will be missed so very much, but we know, with that infectious smile, he is watching over all of his friends and family and praying for us.

Please join us in a celebration of his life Saturday, May 26th, 2018, at the Pizza Palace in Myrtle Creek from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We would love for all to bring their memories, photos or stories to share. Pizza and chicken will be provided.
