"William Paddy came to Plymouth Colony on the James in 1635; was made a freeman at Plymouth Colony in 1636; became a Deacon in the Plymouth Church; was a deputy of the first General Court held in Plymouth in 1639; and was some time treasurer of the Colony; a prosperous merchant; a man of large estate, of great usefulness, influence and piety." At some point he removed to Boston, where he was a successful merchant and dealer in hides/leather.
