Mr. William Alexander, Jr., 78 of 12 Sunderland Drive, Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, September 7, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Dr. Patrick T. Brown, pastor, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2017 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST.
Mr. Alexander was born February 9, 1939 to the late William Alexander, Sr. and the late Mamie Watkins Alexander. He retired from United Cities Gas Company. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Alexander, Phenix City, AL; seven daughters, Deborah (Jamal) Jackson, Columbus, GA; Valerie (Ronnie) Crimes, Preston, GA; Christine Brown, Angela Raggs, Barbara (Johnny) Jenkins, Patrice (Willie) Freeman, Phenix City, AL; Linda (Norman) Lewis, Marietta, GA; three sons, William (Rita) Alexander, III and Otis Richmond, Phenix City, AL; Tommy (Michelle) Alexander, Marietta, GA; five brothers, Rev. Andrew (Victoria) Alexander, Joseph (Mary) Alexander, Phenix City, AL; Dr. London (Rushia) Alexander, Michael (Peggy) Alexander, Columbus, GA; Albert (Janice) Alexander, Cincinnati, OH; six sisters, Annie (Mackey) Jackson, Ida Hill, Lillie (Andrew) Burns, Columbus, GA; Rosie King, Margaret Alexander, Janice (Rickey) Grant, Phenix City; 25 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
