Mildred 'Wink' Jose, 87, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of the Sherburn and Madelia area, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at Avera Prince of Peace Care Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Kramer Family Funeral Home Chapel, Sherburn. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today at Kramer Family Funeral Home, Sherburn, and one hour prior to services at the funeral home Monday.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Damian and husband, Richard of Sioux Falls, S.D., DeLores Davis of Rochester; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin Bong and wife, Florence of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Elenora Bong of Fox Lake; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Marshall Wink and Percy Jose; sons, Charles and Daryl; son-in-law, Ernest Davis; brothers, Alvin and Victor Bong, other relatives.
Mildred Kathryne Bong was born Aug. 28, 1913, on a farm in Lake Fremont Township, Martin County, daughter of William and Anna (Forstrom) Bong. She received her education in Dunnell Public Schools.
On Aug. 27, 1932, she married Percy Jose. On Sept. 30, 1950, she married Marshall A. Wink at Sherburn. They moved to a farm near Truman, then moved to Elm Creek Township, north of Sherburn. They later moved into Sherburn, until moving to Welcome.
In April 1986, they moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. He died on Feb. 7, 1989. On Jan. 19, 1991, she remarried Percy Jose in Madelia. They continued to live in Madelia. After he died, she moved back to Sioux Falls, where she lived until her death.
