Earline was the thirteenth child born to Rosa (Burnett) and Daniel Lawrence Scarborough in the small farming community of Beulah in Angelina County, Texas. Her father died when she was very young and her mother later married Lum Shivers whom they called “Daddy Lum”. Times were hard and she didn’t remember a time when she didn’t work but Earline always had a good time and loved her family.
Earline and Curtis Calvin Grimes were married July 14, 1944.
Earline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Edna Lois and Jim Love; daughter-in-law, Judy Grimes; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dewey Scarborough; nieces, nephews and many other special friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Calvin “Sug” Grimes; sons, Freddy Lee Grimes and Curtis Wayne Grimes; and great-grandson, Justin Grimes.
