Rev. Wayne Prater, age 82, passed away March 3, 2018, at 9:45 pm, at his residence.

Wayne was born February 8, 1936, in Hueysville, KY, to Elliott Prater and Martha (Smith) Moore who preceded him in death. On September 15, 1990, he married Georgia (Scott) Prater who survives in Lima.

Wayne attended McGuffey High School. He then joined the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. Through the years, Wayne worked in many different capacities in many different vocations. What he was most proud of was his later years, when he had served as the minister at Delphos Wesleyan Church and also as Chaplain at St. Rita's Medical Center. Wayne was a member of Lima First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with things in the garage. Most of all he loved talking with people and was always concerned with their salvation and where they were going to church.
