After suffering from a severe attack of typhoid fever for the past six weeks, Regina Abell (sic) the nine year old daughter of John Abell of Belen passed away at St Joseph's sanitarium at 7;30 last night. Regina (sic) took sick in Belen and was brought to Albuquerque for better medical attention.
For a time she improved, but her condition grew rapidly worse during the past few days and the end came last evening. The father and a sister, Miss Edith Abell were at the bedside when the little one passed away.
A sister, Bertha and a brother Roy will arrive from Belen this morning. A brother, Curtis of Jerome Arizona and Robert of Parsons, Kansas were here last week to visit the sick girl and left for their homes only a few days ago, believing her on the road to recovery.
Another brother, Orrie is in Florissant Missouri, a novice studying for the Society of Jesus.
The Abell family will have the sincere sympathy of a large number of friends in their deep sorrow.
Five times during the past nine years has death visited the immediate family, the mother and four children dying during that time. Mrs Abell died when Regina (sic), the child who died last night, was only three weeks old.
The funeral will occur from the Immaculate Conception church at nine Monday morning. The funeral will leave the residence of John S Beaven, an uncle of deceased at 8;45. Interment will be in Santa Barbara cemetery.
J L Abell, father, was born in KY.
She is buried in the Beavens lot
