Waynesboro, Ga. - Miss Gwendolyn Olivia Sturkie, 57, died Tuesday December 6, 2005, in Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta. Miss Sturkie was born in Columbia, S.C., June 2, 1948, to Daniel Onan and Marshall Aiken Sturkie. Miss Sturkie managed a computer department of a credit union. She was a member of Andrew Chapel Methodist Church in St. Matthews, S.C. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday December 11, 2005, at Andrew Chapel Methodist Church in St. Mathews, S.C. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel O. Sturkie, and is survived by her mother, Marshall Aiken Sturkie, St. Matthews, S.C.; one sister, Madeline R. Sturkie; two brothers, James A. Sturkie and Daniel R. Sturkie. She is also survived by two nieces and four nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edmund Burke Academy Booster Club, P.O. Box 787 Waynesboro, GA 30830.
