Mrs Leona Swift, aged 81, of Broken Bow, OK., died June 21, 1967 hospital in DeQueen, Arkansas.

Mrs. Swift widow of Henry Swift, was a native of Mississippi. She lived in Texas a few years and was a resident of Sevier County, AR, some forty years before moving to Broken Bow in 1943. She was a member of the Broken Bow Methodist Church.

Mrs Swift was a God-fearing devoted mother who often led her family in Bible reading and prayer around the family altar. She instilled a love for the Christian faith in the hearts of her children and those who knew her. "Her children rise up to call her blessed."

Survivors include five sons, Thomas Swift of Andrews, TX, Marvin Swift of Lincoln, AR, Ewell Swift of Broken Bow, the Rev. Clyde N. Swift of Hazen and Lt. Col. H. L. Swift of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Marshall Capps of Olney TX and Mrs. Harold Ray of Pittsburg TX; three brothers, Bryan Grayson and Leonard Grayson of Paris TX and Lawton Grayson of Taft, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Chapman of Burkburnett, TX, and Mrs. Roy Jones of Paris, TX; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Assembly of God Church at Broken Bow with the Reverends Baker and Price officiating. Burial will be in the Denison Cemetery in Idabel.

Pallbearers will be Floyd and Dan Hicks, Ron Capps, Don, David and Dennis Swift.
