Interesting to see that this family emigrated from Russia. There were many German Ingenthron families who moved from Germany to Russia, at the invitation of Catherine the Great. She wanted her lands put to use. Some settled in the Volga Region, and others in other regions, and those regions were called Colonies. Many of the Germans immigrants to Russia were not given the freedom promised by Catheriine the Great, when Catherine's son took over. He wanted pure-blood Russians; thus many died in Gulag camps. It is interesting to read about these early Germany Colonies in Russia. Happy to see that this family escpaped. I am merely adding this for more information. Peace be with all f you who were able to escape.
