Amelia was the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Elrich) Best. At an early age she moved to Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, with her family. She immigrated to the United States on May 9, 1907. She became a US Citizen on June 5, 1940. She married Peter Achziger on Feb. 18, 1909 at Ft. Collins, CO. After living in Colorado for several years, they moved to the Scottsbluff area where they farmed until their retirement. After her husband's death, she married Henry Adams on October 1, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1966. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church and the Brotherhood Prayer meetings.
Survivors include her sons: Ted of Portland, Ore., Pete of Kimball, and Harold of Denver; daughters: Pauline Stevens of Lincoln, Eleanor Bauer of Portland, and Helen Betzold of Scottsbluff; five step-children; sister, Jerri Benson of Boston; 35 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sisters and one brother.
