WOMAN PIONEER AT LAKE WALES IS DEAD AT 79
Lake Wales, July 11,1949
Mrs Julia Whidden, 79, who came to what is now Lake Wales nine years before the town was incorporated, died at her home at 238 W. Polk Ave.
Mrs Whidden came here in 1908. The town was incoporated in in 1917. She was born in Titusville and moved to Ft. Meade when a child.
Mrs Whidden was a member of the Babtist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. T. F. Collier, and a sister, Mrs George Rhoden, both of Lake Wales.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday at the Draper Chapel
