MERCEDES, TEXAS - Juan Angel Cantu, 71, passed away on May 23, 2018 at Paxvilla Hospice & Palliative Care in McAllen, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Navarro Cantu and Maria Guadalupe 'Lupita' Mejia Cantu; son Juan Angel Cantu, Jr. and sister Maria Deifilia (Raymond d.) Ulbinsky.

He is survived by his wife Alba Luz Cantu; his son Adrian Cantu; two daughters: Maria Deifilia (Carlos III ) Gonzalez, Jackie Cantu, a step- daughter; Alba Martell; two brothers; Jose (Rosa) Cantu, Arturo (Graciela) Cantu; three sisters: Lupita (Rafael) Perez Guillermety, Gloria (Milton) Hoff and Mary Helen (Stanley) Clair. Also surviving him are five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and served as Petty Officer 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday May 26, 2018. at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Interment will follow at Ebony Grove Cemetery. Military rights will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 7473, Elsa, Texas.
