Amelia "Millie" Barber, age 71, passed away November 4, 2014.
She was born September 29, 1943 in Barberton, Ohio. Millie was proud of her Greek heritage and Greek Orthodox religion. She had a love for animals and went out of her way to help them. She often fostered them until they could be placed in a good home, even if that meant her own home.
Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Maria, and sister, Irene Janis, she is survived by husband of 52 years, Gary P. Barber; sons, Paul H. (Teresa) Barber, Neal Barber; grandchildren, Brock, Gus, Matt, Maria, Erik; brothers, George "Mike" Paterakis, Nick (Jan) Paterakis; extended family, and lifelong friend, Linda Hodovan.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton 44203. Entombment at Lakewood Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. (Cox, 330-745-3311)
