Minerva R. Bain is recorded with her parents and older brother in the 1880 Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania census. After the death of her father in 1880 and her mother in 1885, she is recorded in 1891 and 1892 Leavenworth, Kansas, city directories, residing at 100 S. Esplanade, the same address occupied by W. A. Bain in 1874. (William A. Bain, her older half-brother)

She is recorded with her husband and children in a number of state and federal census reports in Kansas.

Although misspelled, the 1915 Ness City, Ness County, Kansas state census records the birthplace of Minnie B. Davis as Brooklyn, New York. The birthplace of her husband, Henry T. Davis, a minister, is recorded as Baldwin, Kansas. Minnie's son, Monnett, 21, is recorded as born in Green[castle,] Indiana, and her daughter, Marjorie, 15, is recorded as born in Wellsville, Kansas.

Her son, Monnett Bain Davis, became a U. S. diplomat and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was the grandson of Dr. Werter R. Davis, who was born in Ohio, and became the first president of Baker University at Baldwin City, Kansas, a Methodist liberal arts college. He was also the grandson of Mary Monnet Bain, a Methodist philanthropist from Ohio. It is probable that he knew about his grandparents, given that he was named after them.

Research indicates that Minnie's daughter, Marjorie, b. 18 Aug 1899, probably died August 13, 1984 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, as Marjorie Eastman.

Marjorie Eastman is recorded as the wife of Eugene Eastman in both the 1930 and 1940 censuses, both born in Kansas.
