Actress. Born Charline Newman, she was raised in Los Angeles and began her career in entertainment at an early age on radio. In 1947, at the age of eleven, she made her motion picture debut in the film "The Long Night" and followed this with a string of wide range movies which include "Kiss the Blood off My Hands" (1948), "Henry, the Rainmaker" (1949), "The Red Pony" (1949) and "Her First Romance" (1951). She made the transition from teenager to adult and had TV credits in the programs "The Lone Ranger," "Death Valley Days" and "The Donna Reed Show." She may perhaps be remembered by movie audiences for playing 'Betty Palmer' in the film "Teenage Thunder" (1957). Her other pictures include the Elvis Presley film "Loving You" (1957) and the Gary Cooper film "Ten North Frederick" (1958). She retired from acting during the 1960s to raise her family.
