Mrs. Armstrong was born July 19, 1931 in Spartanburg County, the eldest of ten children born to the late Clifton and Lois Clayton Belcher, a homemaker and member of Zoar United Methodist Church. Doris was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and aunt.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Nicole Armstrong of Taylors and four sisters, Jessie Southern and Faye Campbell (Vance) all of Greer, Shirley Burnett (Perry) of Inman and Martha Brown (Paul) of Campobello.
Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Dean Armstrong; three brothers, Robert, Frankie and Louie Belcher and two sisters, Geraldine Cooke and Wilma Humphries.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
