Actress. Her father was a plumbing contractor, she received her Bachelor of Arts from Luther College and later earned a Master's Degree in Oratory from Northwestern University. After some experience in local theater, she moved to New York and made her television debut in a live episode from the series "Goodyear Playhouse" (1952). She experienced her first recurring role as 'Marge Weskit' in the series "Mr. Peepers" (1952 to 1953) and during this period, she made her Broadway debut in the play "Room Service" (1953). In 1963, she began a lengthy association with soap operas initially with "The Doctors" and would go on to appear on "All My Children", "As the World Turns" and "Another World". Additional recurring roles include 'Charlotte O'Neill' in "The Trials of Rosie O'Neill" (1990 to 1992) and as 'Elizabeth Quinn" in "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman" (1993 to 1997). Among her film credits include "Shortcut to Hell" (1957), "Midnight Cowboy" (1969) and "Murphy's Romance" (1985). She was married to actor Stanley Prager until his death in 1972 and later to superior court judge Jack Tenner until his death in 2008.
