CITIZENS SUCCUMBS

Alexander Watts, 89, retired planter and one of the oldest residents of this county, passed away Friday evening at 10 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. F. West, 1201 West Second Avenue from illness lasting a short time.
Mr. Watts was a very prominent planter in this county and adjoining counties and retired about 25 years ago on account of his declining health.
He has been a member of the Springhill Baptist Church for number of years.
In addition to Mrs. West, he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. B. F. Clement of this city and Mrs. W. J. Raymick of Grapevine, three sons, C. Y. Watts of this city, J. T. Watts of Drew, Mass., and W. A. Watts of Wichita Falls, Texas and a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the chapel of the Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary by Rev. Perry F. Webb, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery.
The following grandsons will serve as active pallbearers: Pickens Clements, Walter Clements, Kenneth Raymick, Donald Raymick, John Raymick, Elmer West, Charles West, John West, Russell West and Paul Watts.
Honorary pallbearers will be: U. J. Cone, J. L. West, C. H. Shults, H. L. Gadberry, C. E. Fisher, J. Cain, Willis Roebuck, George P. Darby, J. W. West, Jack Robinson, John W. Ward and C. F. Faucett.

Services were read by Dr. Perry F. Webb, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
Burial was on the family lot in Bellwood Cemetery.
The following grandsons served as active pallbearers: Pickens Clements, Walter Clements, Kenneth Raymick, Donald Raymick, John Raymick, Elmer West, Charles west, John West, Russell West and Paul Watts.
Honorary pallbearers were: U. J. Cone, J. L. West, C. H. Shults, H. L. Gadberry, C. E. Fisher, J. Cain, Willis Roebuck, George P. Darby, J. W. West, Jack Robinson, John ward, and C. S. Faucett.
