PALMETTO, Fla. — June Loving Christian Hutcheson, 85, of Palmetto, FL, died November 8, 2014.

Born October 25, 1929, in Raleigh County, WV, she attended schools in Beckley, WV, and Roanoke, VA. She resided in Washington, DC, Springfield, VA, and Florence, KY, for 32 1/2 years; was a Palmetto, FL, Snowbird from 1988 and became a permanent Florida resident in 1995.

She was employed for 36 1/4 years in several branches of the U.S. Government and later was part owner and president of 3 companies in Palmetto for 10 years. Before and after retiring she volunteered on the Florence KY Rescue Squad for ten years. Also after retiring she volunteered at the Burns Unit of the Shrine Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, and as a Teletype Transcriber for the Deaf in Erlanger, KY.

Since 1995 she has been active in the Manatee Shrine Club of Sahib Temple in Sarasota, FL. She was well known as a collector of beverage "pull tabs" and as a Shrine Volunteer each March at the Pirates Spring Training ball games in Bradenton, FL.

Preceded in death by husband, Charles Edward Hutcheson, in 1981; father, Othol Olden Christian, in 1983; mother, Hila Bailey Christian, 2002, survivors include one daughter Terry Lynn Hutcheson Mayo and two grandsons, Jonah and Spencer of Union, KY, and dear friends, Carol and Rufus Durham of Ruskin, FL; Joyce Brantley of Palmetto, FL; Paul Murry, Marlene Winning, Rae Tobias, Tom and Laura of Bradenton, FL; Don Fields, Florence, KY; and Maxine Treadway, Westmont, IL.

No services are planned. Cremated remains will be sent directly to Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH, to be interred in the Garden Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospitals in Cincinnati, OH, and Tampa, FL, and Tidewell Hospice, Palmetto, FL.
