The information below is from the "Brown Family Book" one of which is in my procession. There is no date of birth listed for Christinah Thompson or her husband William Brown, nor a location of birth other than Scotland. The year is approximate. If anyone has a written record of this info please share.
My 6 x G Grandmother Christinah Thompson was born in Scotland in 1729. She married William Brown "Billy Brown the Scotsman," in 1749 in Scotland.
Christinah and William had five children: George, William, Christina D., Margaret and Anna.
They along with their 5 children came to America, landing in Philadelphia in about 1772. They settled in a Scottish Settlement in what is now Washington County, Pa. Four of their children eventually settled in Middlesex Township, Butler County, Pa. before 1800.
William died in Brownsville, Pa. in 1880 at his cabin along Peter's Creek. William is buried at Peter's Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Venetia, Washington County, Pa.
After his death Christinah then went to live with their daughter, Margaret and son-in-law Samuel Barber in Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, Pa.
Christinah is buried at Beulah United Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Churchill Borough, Wilkins Township, Allegheny County, Pa.
