Mansfield, TX - Age 86, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018.
She was born October 25th, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Agnes Smith.
She married John J. Ashenbrener who proceeded her in death on May 7, 1993. She was employed at and retired from Weyerhauser Company in Manitowoc.
After retirement, Geri pursued an interested in painting and became a very talented watercolor artist, mentor and teacher.
She had talent and a special interest in painting with an emphasis in water color techniques which she studied in the Manitiowoc Senior Center and taught at the art center at Llano Grande Lake Park in South Texas and recently studied other techniques with Senior members at Watercrest at Mansfield Retirement Living.
Survivors include her four children, Dawn Gilley (Jay), Texas, Katherine Paape, Texas, John (Carol) Ashenbrener, Wisconsin, Peter (Lynn) Ashenbrener, Washington.
10 Grandchildren : Victoria Macias (Ben), Taira Davis (Jason), Natalie Marriott, Adella Frederickson (Martin), Chris Drum (Chailese), Haley Lum (John), Alex Ashenbrener, Kali (Charles) Kellerman, Lindsay (Levi) Stair, Max (Breanna) Ashenbrener.
14 Great Grand Children: Rhett Macias, Mikaela Macias, Grayson Frederickson, Nate Frederickson, Christain Drum, Caedmon Drum, Chase Price, Dakota Price, Catarino Davis, Tyler Snow (Lacee), Natasha Marriott, Hazel Snow, Olive Kellerman and Romy Kellerman.
Cremation has taken place and Geraldine's remains will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
