SALEM: Emelene Sheets, 89, formerly of Calcutta, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Salem Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Outville, Ohio on July 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Bernice (Morrow) Compa, was a lifelong resident of Calcutta and had worked in the laundry department at East Liverpool City Hospital. Mrs. Sheets is survived by two daughters, Sondra of Columbus and Lyn Pethtel of Salem; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Sheets was preceded in death by two sons: Ralph "Bill" Sheets and Edward "Butch" Sheets.
