JAMES MILLIS.—The Zanesville Courier says: "Mr. James Millis, one of our oldest citizens, now in his 87th year, came to Zanesville, O., in 1820; has been living with his second wife for 56 years. His father was born in 1706, was 78 years old when his son James was born, and lived to be 95 years of age. Is there another man living who can say, like Mr. James Millis, that his father was born one hundred and sixty-five years ago?" [Cincinnati Daily Gazette., 12th September 1871, Page 6.]

DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN. [Special to the Cincinnati Commercial] Zanesville, O., September 5.—James Millis, who was born in the state of Delaware in 1785 (although census records would suggest 1784), died to-day at his house in this city. He was the oldest citizen of the county, and was looked upon as a remarkable man in the point of mental and physical ability up to his hour of dissolution. [The Cincinnati Commercial., 6th September 1880, Page 1, Column 6.]

War of 1812 Service: Private, Captain Robert Emmett's Company, Col. Masses's Regiment, New York Militia, from 2nd September 1814 through 24th December 1814.
