Robertson on Friday, January 5, 1967 at the US Embassy in Seoul, South Korea. They left Korea for Giessen, West Germany this same year and lived there for the next three years while her husband fulfilled a prior military obligation. After this, his 2nd tour of Germany, he was sent for an extended tour of Vietnam and Okinawa in 1969-70, which after his return to the states, she convinced him not to re-enlist and when his enlistment was up in 1972, they returned to live near his family in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. Suzie, as she was known to family and friends, worked for the Motorola Corp. in Quincy and became a United States Citizen on May 26, 1978 after being sworn in by Judge Richard Schultz of the Adams County Court in Quincy, Illinios. In 1984 her husband, not wanting to waste the 12 years he had spent on Active duty, joined the local unit of the Illinois National Guard so as to be eligible for military retirement at age 65, but a short time later was called back to active duty by the US Army with a duty station at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois. That same year, they moved from Quincy to the small Village of Riverton to the east of Springfield where they remained until SSG Robertson retired from the military in November of 1992. After she was diagnosed as having Parkinson's Disease in the spring of 1996, they moved to the small village of Loami to the west of Springfield in Sangamon County, Illinois to be near her daughter so she would be better cared for as her condition progressed. Suzie, passed away at her home in Loami, Sangamon County, Illinois on March 22, 2003 after her long battle with Parkinsons. There was no burial, as it was her wish to be cremated, her ashes remain with her daughter's family. Her granddaughter's aunt has planed a trip to Korea for her graduation and at that time she will return her grandmother's ashes to her family in Korea for burial.
