Robert McCorkie Dead.

Communicated.

DIED. – MCCORKIE – At the residence of his nephew, Joseph Caldwell, near Clay Grove, Ia., on Friday morning the 25th, at 8:00 oclock, Robert McCorkie; aged 73 years and 18 days. He was born in Washington county, Pa., May 7, 1821. He came to Lee county in 1855, where he has resided ever since. He served in the late war in company K, 18th Iowa Infantry. He was a member of the Presbyterian church at Sharon, and has always tried to live a christian life.

The Rev. Smith, of the C. P. church of Mt. Hamill, conducted the funeral services at Clay Grove, on Saturday, May 26, at 12:00 o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the Clay Grove cemetery. His brother, James McCorkie, of Fort Madison, the only remaining member of the family, was able to attend the funeral
