Stark, son of John George and Martha Tennell Stark, was born on April 12, 1872 and died in his home at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 1942 at Palmyra, in Liberty Township, Marion County, Missouri, aged 70 years, 5 months and 8 days. Services were held for him on Wednesday September 13, 1942 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, Missouri, reading was given by the Rev. A. J. Becker. Pastor of the church and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. He and Opal Nellie Crane were married in Palmyra, on February 5, 1898. She preceeded him in death and he later married Louisa C. Gottman the daughter of John Henry and Anna Louisa Drescher Gottman, on January 9, 1913 at Palmyra in Marion County, Missouri.

FOR HENRY STARK
Funeral services for Henry Stark, 70, who died in his home 2 miles east of Palmyra Sunday morning, September 2, at 10 o'clock were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church and conducted by the Rev. A. J. Becker, pastor, burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery. He had been in failing health for more than a year. Pallbearers were D.W. Cecil, Paul Gottman, Cecil Stark, George Drescher and Paul Thomas.
A son of George and Martha Stark, he was born east of Palmyra, April 12, 1872, and had spent all of his life in the same community. He was married January 9, 1912 to Miss Louisa Gottman, who survives him. Two brothers and four sisters proceeded him in death.
Possessing a jovial and friendly disposition he had many friends. He was a good neighbor and always ready and willing to help where his services were needed. He was a member of a well known pioneer Marion County family and was affiliated with the local German Benevolent Association. The body was prepared for burial at Lewis Bros. Mortuary.
