Martha A. Tennell, daughter of Benjamin and Jane Stoga Tennell was born in February of 1839 in Missouri and died on Friday, September 16, 1883 in Marion County, Missouri and although I have yet to find her grave Marker, I assume she is buried next to her husband in the Greenwood Cemetery at Palmyra, Marion County, Missouri. She married John George Stark on March 13, 1856, also in Marion County, Missouri,
On the 1870 census for Liberty Township, Marion County, Missouri she, John and six of her children are enumerated on page 622. Her father-in-law Johann G. Stark Sr. is enumerated with them as, age 73, born in Bavaria, Germany. On this same census her mother, Jane Stoga Tennell, the wife of Benjamin Tennell, is enumerated as a neigbor living alone, age 57 and born in Kentucky. Martha's father Benjamin, died somewhere on the plains west of St. Joseph, Missouri somewhere between the 15th to the 20th of August 1852 while attempting to reach the gold fields of California by Wagon Train.
