lvin J. Budnik, age 93, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal rest on Sunday morning, November 1, 2015 at the Felician Village Next Step Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Private family services will be held on Thursday November 5, 2015 at the Blessed Angela Chapel, St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with entombment of his cremated remains to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

Alvin was born on May 16, 1922 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Mary (Rysticken) Budnik. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1940. He was employed at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for over 40 years, retiring in 1983. Alvin was a member of G.M.P. Local #301 of Manitowoc. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the 3rd Army 19th Tank Battalion. Alvin was also a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish of Manitowoc. On July 27, 1946 he married Helen Geiger at St. Mary's Church, Brillion.

Survivors include his wife Helen; a daughter and son-in-law: Sara and Michael Gates, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Kay Budnik, Winchester, Wisconsin and Michael and Nancy Budnik, Glendale, Arizona; three grandchildren: Kelly (Tim) Miller and Brian (Tiffany) Gates and Melissa Budnik; two great-grandchildren: Allison and Mason Gates; and one sister: Celestine Rugowski of Centralia, Illinois. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Arthur Budnik.
